Bangalore (now known as Bengaluru) is a major hub for IT and IT enabled product and service organizations. Giants like Google, Yahoo and Microsoft have located their major R&D centers in the city. The areas around Electronics City, ITPL, HSR Layout and Sarjapur/Outer Ring Road house hundreds of IT companies and their employees. The city has an international airport that connects to major domestic and international destinations.

Because of its geographical location, the weather remains pleasant throughout the year. The city is cosmopolitan and people from different parts of the country as well as abroad have settled down in the city. Leading hospitals such as Manipal, Fortis and Columbia Asia provide high quality healthcare. The languages predominantly spoken in Bangalore include Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and English. The city is also famous for its swanky malls that sport global brands. Festivals like Gowri Ganesha and Varamahalakshmi are celebrated by the Hindus. Infant Jesus church is very famous and devotees from other parts of the country come there seeking solace.

Bangalore is also known as "Garden City" or city of parks. Large, beautiful parks such as Lal Bagh and Cubbon Park are located inside the city. The flower show in Lal Bagh is world famous. A mini "hill station" called Nandi Hills is located within 100 km from the city. Prominent shopping areas in the downtown include MG Road and Brigade Road. One can get quality products at reasonable prices in Commercial Street. For food lovers, MTR & CTR restaurants are known to provide authentic kannada cuisine.

All this makes Bangalore a global destination.
