City : Coimbatore

Coimbatore is the third largest district in Tamil Nadu. It is also known by other names such as 'Textile City' and 'City of Entrepreneurs'. Tamil and Malayalam are the languages predominantly spoken in Coimbatore. The city enjoys pleasant weather throughout the year because of its geographical location (proximity to the Western Ghats).

The city is small compared to other major cities in the region. Hence it is congestion free, thus making commuting a pleasure. Top educational institutions like PSG Tech, Amrita Group of Institutions and Avinashilingam Deemed University attract students from outside the country as well. Other well known institutions include GCT, Bharathiar University and TNAU. There are several restaurants catering to vegetarians in Coimbatore. Speciality dishes include Thayir Sevai, Lemon Sevai, Adai Aviyal and Jackfruit Adai. These are prepared and served fresh only in Coimbatore in restaurants like Gowrishankar and Annapoorna. Temples with "Kerala type" architectures can also be found in the city.

The city also supports a number of small scale industries through an association called CODDISIA. Coimbatore is also known for good and affordable healthcare. Ganga Hospital is very famous for hip and joint knee replacement surgeries. Big Bazar Street, Gandhipuram 100 ft Road, R.S.Puram and Cross Cut Road are known to be shopper's paradise. People prefer to settle down in this peaceful city after their retirement.
