Y.Hanumantha Rao is a disciple of Guru Sri Vempati chinna satyam. He started dance training at the age of 18 years at Kuchipudi kalakshetra in 1985. My first teacher Smt.Bala garu, Sir Mahankali Sir Ramachandra murthy and Sir Hari ramamurthy & the Rethem teacher Sir Surya kanti lal. These all teachers were working under guruji

Sri Hanumantha Rao has started dance performances since 1988 and dance ballet from the year 1991 with guruji. He has traveled to all major cities of India for dance festivals like Khajuraho,Konark,Thanjavur,Chiambaram,Sageet Natak Academy Delhi and South Central Zone Nagpur. He has also traveled abroad to USA, Netherlands, France, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore with Guru Dr, Vempati Chinna Satyam and his troupe.

His Performances in dance ballets lists :

Srinivasa kalyanam : as pramadha gana & gollavadu
Chandalika : as Ananda
Rukminikalyanm : as Rukmi (brother of Rukmini)
Haravilasam : as Pramadagana
Kshirasaagara Madhana : as devatha
Ramayanam : as Kusadwaja (king Janka's brother)
Ardhanariswara : as Pramadagana
Keerataarjaniyam : as Vyasa maha muni
Annamayya : as Vykhanasa (mager preast of tirumala devasthanam)
Gopika krishna : as Akrura & Gollawadu.
and many more as leading roles.

Presently Sri Rao is working as dance Master at Padma Bhushan Dr.Vempati Chinna Satyam's kuchipudi kala kshetra since 2003, Visakhapatnam and doing dance compositions. He had recently been to HongKong for a dance workshop.
