National Institution for Transforming India - NITI has come into existence from January 1, 2015 replacing the 64 year old Planning Commission.

The focus of NITI would be more in the form of providing policy and regulatory inputs, proposals for, enhancing value to producers, providing inputs for succeeding in the global village, realizing the potential of the large and growing Indian middle class, leveraging India's scientific and intellectual talent located both within and outside India, improving transparency in Governance, and thereby bringing about a transformation that would take India to leadership position in the world.

NITIaayog shall work towards evolving a shared vision which would become the basis for agenda setting for the Prime Minister as well as the Chief Ministers.

The composition of NITIaayog shall be Chair Person [Prime Minister], Governing Council, Regional Council, Members, Part-time Members, Ex-officio members, Special Invitees, CEO and Secretariat.
