RINL - Visakhapatnam Steel was founded in the year 1971. Vizag Steel was once a corporate entity of SAIL-Steel Authority Of India Limited and later in 1982 is taken over by RINL -Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited

Achievements: Vizag Steel has gained the prestigious “Navratna” Status on November 9th,2010 and as many as 100+ awards.

Employees: As of 31st March, 2014 there are 18,371 employees working in the Plant

Key Products: Forged Rounds, Re bars and Wire Rod Coils, Structural, Special coils and billets
Byproducts include, Phenol, Naphtha, Benzol ,Ammonium Sulphate, Crude coal tar

Exports: Many of the products manufactured are very popular around the globe such as
Hot Rolled Re bars, Wire Rods, High Carbon, Pig Iron and Rounds

Products of the steel plant are exported around the globe to countries in South Asia , South East Asia,Middle East and Africa. Particularly there is a huge demand of products in South Asia , Colombo the capital of Sri Lanka being the hub of exports.
