Space : Tamil MoviesWatching Movies is a good pastime. Movies can strongly influence people's lives and movie buffs pride themselves watching the latest movies of their favorite actors before anyone else. In the 1930s, movies meant just watching silent videos as the technology of those days did not permit the audio to be integrated with the movies. It is believed that "Harichandra" was the first movie with both the video and audio was integrated and became the first "talking" movie. It is said that K.B. Former Chief Minister, M. Karunanidhi was a successful script writer. People were carried away by MGR's acting skills. After he quit acting, he joined politics and became one of the most successful chief ministers of Tamil Nadu. It is believed that even today, MGR's movies are regularly played in small towns and villages and watched by a lot of people. The current chief minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalitha also followed MGR's footsteps and stepped into politics after a successful film career. Rajnikant and Kamalhassan are household names from the 1970s till today. As such, movies portray the life and times of people. Movies also serve as a mirror to understand the culture of a society.
