Most of the region lies along the Vizag Chennai Industrial corridor and has been the source of HiTec Talent globally. Post bifurcation of the state in 2014- attention is shifting to the development of HiTech industry along this region. Important cities/towns along the corridor include Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Vijayawada and Tirupati.
The Rishikonda IT Park in Vizag is the hub of all IT activity - located on 3 hills facing the Bay of Bengal, this IT Park is easily the best in terms of scenic beauty and access to talent. Some of the prestigious educational institutions like Andhra University College of Engineering, GITAM University, Gayatri Vidya Parishad are all located within a few miles from the IT Park.
Popular companies like IBM, Cyient and several home grown companies like Symbiosys Technologies, Mahathi Software, NuNet Technologies, Miracle Software are all located in the IT Park. Technology companies in the IT Park include Sankhya Technologies and Dreamchip Electronics.
