CITSABHA - Centre for Kuchipudi and allied arts |
Citsabha Centre for Kuchipudi and allied arts was established in the spring of 2016 with the intention of imparting instruction in the south - Indian classical dance form of Kuchipudi. Founded by Srividya Angara Sinha, Kuchipudi dancer and choreographer, the school based out of Bengaluru, India, aims to create a holistic learning environment to imbibe the various nuances of the Kuchipudi dance style.
Given that Kuchipudi is fundamentally a dance drama tradition, there is a need to reinforce knowledge in the intricacies of rhythm patterns, the rigour of the pure dance technique(nrtta) as well as the subtleties of expression (abhinaya)with awareness and practice in classical music as well without ever compromising on the grace and fluidity that are at the heart of this style.
And that is the goal statement of Citsabha... to teach uncompromisingly through exacting standards, the many aspects that make up glorious tradition of the Kuchipudi dance style.
