Annual Awards

VMDA conducts programmes round the year, it holds a National Eminence Award Function followed by 7 day National Level festival of Music and Dance in the month of August every year. As part of this festival, one of the most outstanding performers of the country in classical Music or Dance will be honoured.

The award package consists of

  1. Felicitation;

  2. Nada Vidya Bharati or Natya Vidya Bharati title;

  3. Cash award of Rs. 1,00,000/-

  4. Swarana Kamalam(worth Rs. 1,75,000/-) and

  5. Nutana Vastralu.

A VVIP like Governor, Supreme Court Judge etc. has been the Chief Guest for the occasion. Dr. Sripada Pinakapani, Dr. M. Balamurali Krishna, Pandit Jasraj, Dr. Vempati China Satyam, Pandit Amjad Alikhan, Sangita Kalanidhi Sri Nedunuri Krishna Murthy, Padma Bhushan Lalgudi G. Jayaraman, Dr. Nataraja Ramakrishna,Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia ,Padma Vibhushan Sri Umayalpuram K.Sivaraman and Padmabhushan Dr. M.S.Gopalakrishnan were the recipients of this award in the previous years.
