 "PriyaLasya LasyaPriya" Pic Credit- Uday Shenkar  Address: Visakhapatnam, India Gurus: Sri Potnuru Vijaya Bharani Shenkar (‘National Second Generation Guru’ for Kuchipudi Tradition, recognized by the Central Sangeeth Natak Akademi, New Delhi). He learnt Bharathanatyam under his father in the year 1960 and later he moved to Chennai to do specialization in Kuchipudi Tradition under Late Smt. & Sri Vempati Peda Satyam (1962), Late Guru Vempati China Satyam (1962) and Late Sri S.P. Anand. (Kuchipudi, Folk & Oriental Dance from 1963 to 1981). Guru Vijaya Bharani Shenkar had trained many gurus in the same field who are now spread all across the globe setting up their own institutions and also trained several noted Tollywood actors and actresses. Accomplishments Qualifications: BFA Bharatanatyam graduate from the SASTRA University, Thanjavur -under the tutelage of Padma Bhushan Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam Expertise: Guru Uday Shenkar has a compulsive appeal of his looks, articulation and artistry. T His electric movements of ‘Thandava’ (hard and heavy movements), ‘Lasya’ (soft movements) and the elegance of his sculpturesque postures in all his performances have been well received by the classical art lovers in special and immensely appreciated by the public. Recognition: Conferred with the prestigious 'Natya Bhushan' award through the hands of the legendary ‘Gyanpeeth’ awardee - respected Dr. C. Narayana Reddy Graded artiste of Doordarshan in Kuchipudi dance and is also a trained Carnatic vocalist. Staged workshops and Kuchipudi dance ballets produced by his dance academy such as ‘Ardhanaareshwara Aantaryam’, ‘Sri Krishna Tulabharam’, etc., in lead roles as Lord Shiva and Lord Krishna, respectively. Performance Singapore and won standing ovations for his contributive work and performances. . Present Role: Presently works as a resident choreographer, creative, artistic director, principal dancer and a faculty in Kuchipudi dance in his father's dance academy named Sri Ambikeshwara Kuchipudi Dance and Music Academy in Visakhapatnam, India. Solo and group performances all over in both art forms of Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam.
