Space : Make In India

Thanks to the Central Government's focus on promoting manufacturing in the country, the makeinindia initiative was launched in September 2014.

In the past decade, share of manufacturing in the GDP has been steadily declining. India being a large market with over 1.2 billion people, there is a limit to how much can be imported. Running a large trade deficit is never sustainable and erodes the value of domestic currency.
With 65% of India's population below the age of 35, bringing back manufacturing also tends to generate the much needed employment.

Key sectors that are expected to see major investments are electronics, defence, consumer durables, high technology equipment etc.

On the infrastructure side, Government is promoting aggressively the creation of industrial corridors and smart cities besides talent building, all of which would provide a perfect platform for makeinindia
