InDIITA - May 09 2026, Hyderabad

Opportunity to Advance India's MANAV Vision -- Apr 11, 2026

Speaking at the AI impact summit, Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi unveiled a universal call for turning AI into a force for inclusive human development - terming it MANAV (human !);

The SCCI received a Call for EoI from the organizers of InDIITA 2026 workshop in response to an SCCI viewpoint; The SCCI responded with a breakout session proposal focused on a Reference Architecture for DGPA to realize DIITA by default - based on a 2014 proposal for DGPA

What is DGPA ? : https://hamara.in/portals/space/SPACE20/SCI/src/publish/cache/Reference/dgpa.pdf

What is DIITA ? DIITA stands for : Dignity, Inclusion, Identity, Trust and Agency (More in the workshop snapshot shared below)

What is MANAV ? India's MANAV vision for AI; Here is MANAV in Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi's words "Explaining the acronym, he said, “‘M’ stands for moral and ethical systems – AI should be based on ethical guidance. ‘A’ stands for accountable governance, meaning transparent rules and robust oversight. ‘N’ stands for national sovereignty – whose data, his right. ‘A’ stands for accessible and inclusive – AI should be a multiplier, not a monopoly. ‘V’ stands for valid and legitimate – AI should be lawful and verifiable.”

Clearly the overarching nature of MANAV vision requires a sound technology framework to realize

The Breakout Session on Reference Architecture for DGPA at InDIITA 2026 offers a formative opportunity for policy makers and technocrats to shape the global technology standards roadmap aligned with DGPA, DIITA and MANAV ! The workshop includes other breakout sessions led by experts.

Here is a quick snapshot of the workshop for your review:

InDIITA 2026 – DIITA by Default

Date: 9 May 2026 Location: Hyderabad

The InDIITA 2026 workshop, organized under the IEEE SA Industry Connections initiative, focuses on the theme: “DIITA by Default – Making Dignity, Inclusion, Identity, Trust, and Agency the baseline behavior of digital systems.”

Workshop Format

InDIITA 2026 is designed as an open, working forum, bringing together practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and standards contributors.

The workshop follows a divergence → convergence model:

Proposed Breakout Themes

The breakout sessions will focus on examining real deployment contexts and identifying where systems need to evolve to better align with human values:

  1. Digital Trade & Interoperability Systems (Trust, identity, and inclusion in cross-border trade ecosystems)
  2. Explainable and Trustworthy AI Systems (Transparency, accountability, and agency in automated decision-making)
  3. AI & Data Infrastructure (Data pipelines, identity flows, and safeguards in enterprise systems)
  4. A Reference Architecture for Digital Government Policy Architecture (Embedding citizen-centric safeguards such as DIITA and MANAV in digital public infrastructure)

Objective of Breakout Sessions

Contribute to standards, governance, and implementation pathways
