"PriyaLasya LasyaPriya"
Neha, Srividya & Gowri performed in this edition. The first artiste, Neha Bhatnagar from Delhi commenced the show and her performance with a "Devi Stuti" dedicated to Goddess Shakti, set to "Raagamalika". Her second item was "Pannagendra Shayana", in praise of Lord Padmanabha composed by "Swati Tirunal" and choreographed by Guru Smt.Rama Vaidyanathan. An accomplished young dancer, and under the able tutelage of Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan and Guru Rama Vaidyanathan, an expressive dancer, she performed both items with a lot of energy and yet a certain softness to her movements. The next dancer, Srividya Angara, disciple of Smt.Sudha Sridhar, began with a traditional invocation to Lord Ganesha.Starting with "Gajnanam Bhootha Ganadhi" and moving on to "Vinayaka ninnu brochutaku" , Srividya crisply conveyed a short story of Ganesha and Subramanya circumambulating the Earth. Her second item was "Prahalada Pattbhisheka Shabdam", one of the most celebrated stories sung and danced by Kuchipudi Bhagavatars. Sriviyda gets very involved from the minute she walks on to the stage.Highly energetic, and truly looks happy on stage. She is capable of involving the audience through her quick change of expressions of various characters and range of emotions. She does not compromise on the fast paced footwork either. She offered a choice of items that displayed her skill at her own choreography too. After an intense performance, she changed the mood in the next item "Magadochchi Pilachenu" in pleasing "Sahana Raga". From the ferocious Narasimha, she transformed into a young , anxious lover, who has to leave Krishna and go away with her husband. She concluded her performance with Chandrashekhara dedicated to Lord Shiva, composed by Muttuswamy Dikshitar. The final artiste of the evening, Ms.Gowri Sagar, student of Guru Satyanarayana Raju, began her performance with a Jatiswaram in Raga Rasika Priya. Her execution of nritta was very neat and effortless. "Shivapanchakshara stotram" was done well . Gowri is learning abhinaya from Guru Smt.Bhanumati. Gorwri chose her next abhinaya item , an "Ashtapadi" , "Sakhi hey" choreographed by Smt.Bhragha Bassell. Gowri concluded her performance with a "Tillana" in "Valachi raga" choreographed by Guru Satyanrayana Raju. Again, her steps , form and postures were very neat. A monsoon evening well spent with commendable performances by three beautiful dancers.
