Samarpana, a solo Kuchipudi dance performance by Aparna Satheesan organized by Samyoga, a non profitable trust presented an enlightening audio visual feast to all lovers of art at Vyloppili Samsrkriti Bhavan, Trivandrum on Nov 29th 2015. Aparna Satheesan, disciple of Guru Smt. Vyjayanti Kashi took the audience to heights of ecstasy through her mind alluring Kuchipudi performance. The synchronization of faith, love, separation and concern could be viewed as through a kaleidoscope in the varied expressions reflected on the face of the artist. The fusion of emotions to the accompaniment of music made for a pleasent evening.
As it is customary to commence any special event with a dedication to Lord Ganesha, Aparna marked the initial performance of the day with a “Ganesha Pravesha Daravu” followed by a “Ganesha Kauthuvam”, receiving the “Chilanka” from Her Highness Aswathy Thirunal Gowri Lakshmi Bayi. This dance was followed by a “Ramayana Shabdam” tracing the birth of Lord Rama to his coronation, bringing in the great Indian epic on to the stage, that filled the pious minds of the audience with admiration for the artist. This was followed by a “Kshetrayya Padam” with Shringara rasa as main theme expressing intense devotion to the Lord Muvva Gopala(Krishna) set in Aboghi raga.
The vibrant transcending steps to the accompaniment of the lines extolling the love for Sri Padmanabha: “Sri Vasudeva Prabho”, a kuchipudi tharangam, gave a devotional experience. The artistic portrayal of the journey of Gopikas with Krishna on the banks of river Yamuna through a Keerthanam(Nauka Charitam) composed by Saint Thyagaraja was well presented. The recital concluded with the Thillana composed by Sri Swathi Thirunal.
Samarpana was a charity program in memory of her father, the late G.Satheesan. As part of the program, Aparna helped H2O organization(for the treatment of autistic kids) and Sri Sabari Sasidharan, a fourteen year old autistic boy. Aparna Satheesan is professionally an engineer in USA and Artistic Director of Samyoga expressed her great contentment at the success of her venture and hopes to organize such endeavors in future with the vision of charity.
